| ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Insout is a creative music duo formed in 2000 by two great friends: Claudio Allia (composer and producer) and Riccardo Samperi (composer, producer and sound engineer) with the only intent to express their own visions and inner emotions, through the exploration of several sonic directions. "We were born and we live in Sicily, a highland in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea that has witnessed confluence of very different cultures through the centuries: Greek, Arabians, Normans, Spanish and American too ( Sigonella NATO base is only 5 miles from our hometown)" "Our artistic influences vary from Magritte and Dalì paintings to Mediterranian etno /folk music, rock and blues, electronic music, funk, jazz and classical; from J.S. Bach to Dreamtheater, from Thelonious Monk to Orbital." In 1997 Claudio and Riccardo founded a small indie record company T.R.P. Music with the main goal to promote own releases and other accomplished jazz, world and classical artists. "Our production and performing approach is easy and spontaneous with no big business or marketing plans, we just seat in the studio with a glass of red wine and let it all flow through melodies, rythms and chords progressions. We always feel a common state of mind with a "zen approach" to what we do, and when we feel happy with what we have played and recorded, then we are sure to show it to the rest of the world." Insout 's debut CD Trikke & Trakke (a spaced-out jazz/fusion, latin-jazz and funk) has been released by T.R.P. Music in 2001 and promoted online. Discover now Acoustic Privacy
released by Insout on March 2005, an amazing sonic adventure through gentle acoustic sounds and elegant
contemporary jazz atmospheres, featuring as special guest star Paul Wertico on drums. |

M.D. Ophtalmologist, music writer and producer. Claudio began playing piano by ear at the age nine. For two years he practiced every day after school but soon grew an aversion to classical piano because of its lack of freedom, preferring to "jam" on the classical chord structures instead of playing what was written. Claudio began studying jazz theory, writing and arranging techniques as well as improvisational skills from a number of jazz pianists who were friends of the family. He also gained a lot of experience jamming with his dad (who played piano and accordion) at home as well as sitting in with many musician friends around town. "Since very young I've have been so much curious into discovering the most various music artists and styles. I started listening and playing Beatles and Santana covers, moving towards Motown's records, at the end of seventies I've been witched by progressive rock gurus, so at that time I performed as keyboards player with several cover bands in my area trying to reproduce the sound of Yes, Genesis, P.F.M., Gentle Giant, Frank Zappa...... In early eighties I started listening to jazz giants such as Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Charlie Parker, Monk, Bill Evans.....and to mesmerizing electronic/ambient explorations from Philip Glass, Klaus Schultze (Tangerine Dream) and Brian Eno. My definitive approach to jazz music as player was in 90's after discovering the electric jazz adventures of Weather Report, Return to Forever and Brecker Brothers. 1999 was my "resetting year"! I switched off all my samplers and electronic instruments to dedicate all my free time to the study of alto saxophone. I realize day by day to love the use of this instrument in my music projects and Insout represents the best creative chance to express some of the deepest emotions collected in my life..!"
In 1991 he released for the sicilian label See Tee Jam his first soloist album titled Buzzing [mp3] recorded with drummer Enzo Di Vita. In 1994 his song Ricordi del Cuore [mp3] published by Sony Music, reached #2 at the 44th Sanremo Song Contest In 1998 Claudio released an experimental ambient/progressive electronica music project titled Kosmodrome [mp3] with co-writer Rob Durante, promoted on MP3.com In 1999 with the pseudonyme of Dok Allis released Torquemadness [mp3], an electronic music album promoted on MP3.com.
